The annual Pink Loerie Mardi Gras returns once again to rock the gorgeous town of Knysna from 27 April to 2 May 2010.
It’s an opportunity to let your hair down, to party and to celebrate your sexuality, your sexual freedom, your culture and your constitutional rights! Events planned for this year include:
Kempinski Hotels will host an invitation-only cocktail party. The world famous Jean-Paul Gaultier will be one of the sponsors.
More parties, including: the PINK party; the traditional “gat” party; the “After Parade Party” and a few new more risqué bashes.
Competitions and pageants such as the Mr. Mardi Gras SA, the Miss Mardi Gras SA, the Me. Mardi Gras Drag Competition, Mr. Underwear SA and the Best Costume in the Parade title.
Entertainment: The awesome DJ Sam – a Pink Loerie favourite – will be playing at Zanzibar again on three nights. Other entertainment includes the SA Drag Troupe show, a live theatre performance and the fabulous Holly and the Woods.
The first ever PINK Soccer Challenge. Entries are now open for four girl and four boy teams to take part. Contact juandon@mweb.co.za for info.
The famous street parade and the High Heel Street Mile. Miss Dainti Deliscia will be celebrating 10 years of attending the parade.
Knysna Fine Art presents: Mike Vlok ceramics and DP Ferreira (floral artist) plus Vietnamese photographer Duy Vo Lap with his cutting-edge infra-red erotic male photography.
Special guests: The VIP guest for 2010 will be Luiz de Barros, owner of Mambaonline.com, the largest and most up-market gay life style portal in South Africa. Mr. Gay South Africa 2009, Charl van Den Berg will also be at the Mardi Gras. VIP Designer Peter Bondesio will be showing his range during the Mr. Mardi Gras SA 2010 event while Wilco Stemmet, co-owner and designer of Bone Wear, will also be showing his latest range of swimwear and underwear.
For the girls: An all-girlz venue with lots of fun parties and happenings and, back by popular demand, the Beyond Eden Woman’s Day Event.
