Catholic schoolgirl gone wild & gay Mormons! Here are this week’s PrideTV highlights

Loving Annabelle: Romantic Drama – 2006 – GermanyMamba Rating: 4/5
A Catholic schoolgirl goes wild in this illicit lesbian romance, set at an all-girls school. Annabelle is an enchanting new student who quickly draws attention for her rebellious behaviour. Her teacher, Simone, is instructed to keep an eye on her and get her under control. She quickly learns, however, that the real challenge is the attraction budding between the two. As Annabelle pursues her teacher, she unleashes the passion that has been locked deep inside Simone, who must decide whether or not to enter an affair that could cost her everything.
Latter Days: Romantic drama – 2007- USAMamba Rating: 5/5
This is a modern gay cinema classic that is a must-see. Cute Mormon missionary, Aaron, travels door-to-door in Los Angeles spreading the word of his religion, while equally appealing Hollywood party boy, Christian, goes from man to man without much commitment. They don’t seem to have much in common, but when they meet sparks begin to fly. In addition to great performances by the leads, the supporting cast includes Joseph Gordon-Levitt (The Dark Knight Rises) and international screen legend Jacqueline Bisset. A tender film that combines laughs, seduction and tears with plenty of romance.
Jess & James: Sexy drama – 2015 – ArgentinaMamba Rating: 4/5
Threesome anyone? A very appealing cast star in this beautifully filmed road trip movie, packed with smouldering sexuality. After meeting for a sexual encounter, Jess and James set off on a spontaneous trip across rural Argentina to reunite with Jess’ estranged brother. On their journey, they confront strange occurrences and engage in a ménage à trois affair that brings them closer. A sexually charged road-trip movie, a love story, and a coming-of-age tale, set against the mythical landscape of the Argentinean Pampas. A global film festival hit on its release.
The Consequence: Classic drama – 1977 – GermanyMamba Rating: 4/5
For the cinema buffs; this one’s for you. German film star Jürgen Prochnow plays Martin, a prison inmate. He’s seduced by Thomas, the son of the prison warden. After Martin is released, the two men try to build a relationship and a life together but, no one will let them be. This classic, if melodramatic and a tad slow paced, black and white German love story was groundbreaking for its time. It was notably directed by the renowned Academy Award nominated Wolfgang Petersen (The NeverEnding Story, Outbreak & Air Force One).
